Personal Life
Dr. Summers grew up on a farm south of Gibbon Nebraska near the Platte River. His brother has now taken over the family farm. He graduated from Gibbon High School.
Dr. Summers lives in David City Nebraska with his wife Stephanie and 3 daughters. They love to travel and explore new places! His children kids love to dance and are also involved with 4-H. His wife Stephanie is heavily involved in the School Board–School Legislate and President of David City Public School Board.
For fun, Dr. Summers enjoys brewing beer, golfing in the summer, playing poker, and fantasy football. He also enjoys hunting and shooting, though it is rare he gets to with his busy family.
“I love the relationships with patients and their families….caring for newborn babies to great-grandparents! We love the small-town life and wanted to raise our kids in a small town. It has been a great community to be a part of!”
—Matthew “Matt” Paul Summers, MD
Dr Sussie helped me with my measles, and I was fine within weeks. She’s really great and she’s my favourite doctor!

Annual physicals are important because they provide benchmarks to detect changes in health. Generally insurance covers these appointments for free. We would love for your family to get in the habit of getting an exam each year to monitor your children’s growth and confirm body changes as we get older are on track for your specific age. We also utilize this time to discuss and concerns or changes you may have in your health. Early detection does save lives. Call today to schedule an appointment!
